# Who can see what in Career Bird

## What you can see in Career Bird depends on your role.

Everyone is an employee. Some people are also managers, role editors, org admins or billing admins, and one person can hold several of these at once.

### Employees

Everyone in Career Bird is an employee. Under **My career**, employees see their own role description, skill survey, development plan, learning resources and Career Explorer. Employees can't see other people's surveys or plans.

### Managers

Anyone with people reporting to them is a manager. Under **Team management**, managers see the people in their reporting line, their skill surveys and their development plans. Managers can issue new skill surveys to their team, add cards to development plans, create group plans for their team and comment on cards.

When you open someone from **My employees**, you'll see these tabs: Overview, Development, Surveys, Skills and Learning.

> **Tip:** If someone is missing from your team, ask your admin to check who is listed as that person's manager.

### Role editors, reviewers and approvers

**Role editors** are given access to one or more job families. They can edit the roles, tracks and families they're responsible for and submit changes for approval. This is a common way to let an HR business partner manage the roles for their part of the organization.

**Reviewers and approvers** are assigned to specific roles. A reviewer suggests changes and submits them. An approver can publish the role.

The **Role management** section of the menu appears for role editors and anyone assigned to review or approve a role.

### Org admins

Org admins manage Career Bird for the organization. They can add and invite people, give admin access, issue surveys and create development plans for anyone, edit every job family, and manage the leveling framework, competency model, skill library, job postings and settings.

### Billing admins

Billing admins can upgrade the account. Billing admin is separate from org admin: being an org admin doesn't make someone a billing admin, and a billing admin doesn't get admin, role editing or compensation access. An org admin who is also a billing admin can give or remove billing access in the Billing column on **All employees**.

### Frequently asked questions

**Can my manager see my skill survey answers?**
Yes. Once you submit your survey, your manager can see your answers. After your manager submits their survey for you, you can see their answers in the Manager rating column under My skills.

**Can an admin see Career Bird the way an employee sees it?**
Not directly. Admins can open anyone's profile and see their information, but in the admin's own view. If you need help seeing what an employee sees, contact [support@careerbird.ai](mailto:support@careerbird.ai).

**Who can see compensation data?**
Career Bird doesn't store individual employee pay. Salary ranges for roles are visible only to org admins, and only when compensation data is turned on for your organization.

**Can I have more than one role?**
Yes. For example, a manager can also be a role editor, and an org admin can also be a billing admin.
